Hotel Sonya In Rome
cwo3ward @ 08/ 07/ 2009

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sonya. We should have stayed there longer instead of in another hotel. The lobby was nice, but a bit cramped. When we went up to our room, we had to go up their elevator, through a strange, heavy door and then down a small hallway where there were just a few rooms. Once inside, the room felt small and cramped, but we got used to it and were comfortable. Everything worked fine and the shower was tiny, but that's not unusual.

We felt very safe and secure at this hotel. The area was nice and the Metro line was close by. The Ministry of Defense building was only a few blocks away and there were uniformed personnel walking around the area.

Their morning breakfast was simple, but enough to start the day on. We were in a hurry to get to the train station, so we didn't spend any time with breakfast. We paid about 130 Euros for the room. The hotel desk was kind enough to let us leave our bags with them while we took an overnight trip down to Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento. I found the staff to be reasonably attentive and helpful, especially when we needed a taxi. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
