You work all your life, move from job-to-job and save for retirement day. That’s me! But now that “retirement” isn’t too far off, like most people, I have decisions to make. I made mine in 2006, just after returning home from a GREAT trip to Europe. I was so overwhelmed with feelings from what my wife and I saw, that I made the decision right then and there – to work toward a transition in life that would allow me to travel any time I wanted and go anywhere I wanted for as long as I wanted. I’ve made 3 more trips to Europe and Taiwan since then. But that’s not enough for me.
The first problem is – how to do this? It costs a lot of money to maintain a home AND go off for extended periods to various countries around the globe. I’m working on it! That’s what this blog is going to be about. How to make it work so I can enjoy life, travel and spend more time with family and friends.
I’m fully employed these days (I work 7 days a week and get very little time off) and I want to make a nice, gradual change when the time comes. I’ll travel when I can and write articles, tips and reviews for the website. I’m looking forward to a trip to Italy coming up in 2012. Beyond that, I don’t know.
I aim to get from here to there in the next few years! Join me and we will both learn something about traveling the world and finally becoming free to live our lives as we see fit!
