In 2006, we took the private rail line from Interlaken, Switzerland to Kleine Scheidegg. Along the way, we stopped at Gimmelwald and Murren (cable car ride up) and then on to Kleine Scheidegg. We didn't continue up to the Jungfraujoch because there were a lot of tourists that day and we were short on time. Next time we'll make that journey. The trip is incredibly scenic and a lot of fun. I don't recall the cost of the train trip, but be aware that your rail pass is not honored for this trip. The extra cost is well worth
it. It is amazing to think that this small town has been around for many years. The train ride to the top of the Jungfrau was a huge effort at tunneling through the rock to get all the way up to the top. The work started over 100 years ago and took about 11 years to tunnel through the mountain.
